Embed Bible Passages free WordPress plugin

Provides the ability to embed Bible Readings Plans into a post or page using a shortcode. Description PLEASE NOTE: This plugin is being replaced by the Bible Reading Plans plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/bible-reading-plans/), which draws its Scriptures from either the American Bible Society, Version 1 (API.Bible), The Digital Bible Platform, Version 2 (https://www.digitalbibleplatform.com/), or the ESV Bible Web Service API, Version 3 (api.esv.org). This was made necessary because Crossway Bibles Web Service (esv.org) changed their API, making it impossible to access Bible reading plans, unless one has a key issued by them before about November of 2017. At present the Bible Reading Plans plugin is a bit less polished than this Embed Bible Passages one and contains fewer plans. The new plugin, however, has the potential for more versions of the Scriptures and more languages. The American Bible Society API provides 20 English language versions (with the potential for more via the Digital Bible Library to acquire the necessary licenses) and over 1600 languages. The Digital Bible Platform API provides two versions for English and for more than 1000 languages. Version 0.6 of the Bible Reading Plans plugin adds access to the ESV Bible Web Service API, Version 3, which provides audio directly with the texts as well as better formatting control than do the other APIs at present. More reading plans will be available in future versions. A premium plugin has also been developed which enables users to create their own Bible reading plans. It is hoped, therefore, that the Bible Reading Plans plugin promises a much broader future than does the Embed Bible Passages plugin. The Embed Bible Passages plugin provides the ability to embed Bible reading plans from the ESV Bible Web Service (http://www.esvapi.org/api#readingPlanQuery) into a post or page using a shortcode of the form [embed_bible_passage reading_plan=’bcp’]. See the screenshots for an example of how to use this tag. The values of reading_plan can be: bcp – Book of Common Prayer lsb – Literary Study Bible esv-study-bible – ESV Study Bible every-day-in-the-word – Every Day in the Word one-year-tract – M’Cheyne One-Year Reading Plan outreach – Outreach outreach-nt – Outreach New Testament through-the-bible – Through the Bible in a Year The default reading plan is bcp. Note that only the bcp and through-the-bible options have been tested for this plugin. The other options are provided by the ESV Bible Web Service and should also work. For more information about these reading plans, please see the ESVBible.org Devotions area (http://www.esvbible.org/ and select Plans menu item). The page opens with the plan reading for the current date, as set on the client computer. An optional date picker calendar is available to enable users to choose readings for other dates. A tag to embed the current date is also available [embed_passage_date], although this is deprecated in favor of using the date picker calendar. The readings are provided with a link to an audio file to enable users to listen to the readings. This file is in mp3 format.
